Artist of the Month 2013
Edmond Art Association welcomes Eric Spiegel, EAA Guest Artist on Monday, April 22, 2013.
Born in Pennsylvania in 1946, his early childhood activities included exposure to the violin and oil painting. It was during his violin lessons that he found his first painting teacher, his violin teacher's spouse. The memories of the scent of oil mediums have never left Eric's mind and heart. Eric's father made sure he was well rounded in education, music, and art. Eric later went on to earn a degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University and a Pharmacy degree from Temple University. Around 1991 when he decided that he would soon be retiring from the military,he started taking workshops from some of the modern well-known painters of today. He studied with master artists David Leffel and Ted Seth Jacobs for six years. Ted opened Eric's eyes to the secrets of the great masters, which gave him the ability to see the world through the eyes of an artist.
Eric retired in 1997, and eventually moved to France to study art on a full-time basis. He spent over six years in a private atelier and lived in France until 2008. He now makes his home in Oklahoma. His goals include spending as much time as possible painting the things that he finds beautiful.

Artists - Members and Nonmembers are invited to enter (download/print application HERE) the EAA annual Spring Fine Art Show & Sale.
The public is invited to attend and view or purchase some of the finest art in Oklahoma at the SPRING ART SHOW & SALE, June 15, 2013, 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Spring Creek Plaza, 15th & Bryant, Edmond, Oklahoma. The exhibition area is outdoors on the wide veranda-like sidewalks in front of the stores at the upscale, Spring Creek Plaza. Easy access to the show and ample free parking on site makes this perfect for an enjoyable Saturday outing with friends and family.
